Dear Noblesville First family,
“Ready or not, here I come!” This phrase is shouted by young people as they play hide and seek on playgrounds, but I think it may also refer to where we are as a church.
Over the last year our leadership has been intentional about GROWING YOUNG and seeking ways to engage young people and their families. This emphasis can be seen in a shift to the worship schedule that makes Sunday school for children available at both hours, the creation of the GRACE SPACE just outside the sanctuary, the relaunch of YOUTH GROUP last Wednesday night, and the preaching and teaching of the book, GROWING YOUNG.
With these shifts you may be wondering: what difference does it make? When will we see the fruit of our labor? Well, I believe God heard our wondering and answered us last week at our "Pizza with the Pastors" gathering when 38 people, from 2 months of age to 75 years, came together to express their interest in becoming part of our church family. As I looked around the room, I saw the first fruit, the first evidence of God’s faithfulness and our intentional work of growing young.
As I look forward, I believe there will be many more people who will be coming next. People who have been seeking a church where they matter, belong and are embraced---with no exceptions. This group will gather again for one of our Exploring Membership Classes (click here to register) before they are formally welcomed as new members on a Sunday morning this fall.
While we’ll finish our Growing Young sermon and study series this Sunday, we will never be finished with God’s call to reach young people.
Because, ready or not, God is blessing Noblesville First with you and with growth.
Keep the Faith @First,
