“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.” Romans 8:26
Most wonderful and powerful God in these confusing, troubling times we sometimes find that we do not have the words to pray all the things that are on our hearts. We pray for those who are ill and suffering whether from coronavirus or other struggles. We pray especially for those in the medical professions, for police, firefighters, grocery store workers, janitors and all who are working and risking their lives as we work our way through this pandemic. Help us as we are staying safe in our homes to find ways of caring one person at a time. Open our eyes to ways we can bring your healing love to others whether it is a phone call or buying a meal for someone who otherwise might not have food. As we stay warm and safe, help us support ministries that are trying to provide shelter for the homeless. We pray for their safety and the safety of those they are reaching. Lord in the midst of these times, we are moving ever closer to Easter, the Resurrection miracle. We see the hope of spring, of new life, all around us as grass turns green, flowers begin to bloom and we are treated to the rare brief return of the white pelicans on our lakes. Our hearts fill with joy as we remember that you and you alone are the Creator and Redeemer. Sustain and guide us, we pray, in the days ahead that we may be a blessing for you by spreading your love. Amen.
