DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN & FAMILY MINISTRIES

OVERVIEW
The Director of Family Ministries will work with the Family Ministries Team to provide vision, strategy, and leadership to the families of Noblesville First. The Director of Family Ministries will create and implement a family ministry program that offers a relevant, safe, fun environment for children, youth, and families to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. The Director of Family Ministries will work with the church leadership and staff to develop a family ministry program that reflects our mission and values.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership:

- Recruiting and providing general direction, guidance, and vision for the Family Ministry Team
- Supervise, train, and support Family Ministry interns, assistants, and nursery workers
- Build relationships within the church and with the community by increasing children, youth, and family presence at community events and activities
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Associate Pastor to train and support individuals in their discipleship journey
- Develop new ways for individuals in all age groups to participate in service to the Church and the community
- Encourage the creativity and development of leadership skills in team members
- Establishing and using feedback systems for regularly assessing program effectiveness
- Serve as an advocate for Family Ministry with staff, congregation, and lay leaders
Programming:

- Develop, communicate, and implement relevant programming for children/families
- Work with Noblesville Methodist Preschool Director to develop opportunities for cross-engagement between the Preschool and NFUMC Family Ministries
- Assist the Associate Pastor with Youth Ministry responsibilities
- Equip families with resources and education to help them become actively and intentionally involved in the spiritual formation and discipleship of their families
- Overseeing planning, coordination, volunteer recruitment, training, and evaluation for outreach and seasonal activities (Lent/ Easter, Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, and Advent/ Christmas)
Administration:

- Create an environment that is conducive to learning, fun, and relationship building
- Provide required training on all appropriate church policies and procedures, including Safe Sanctuaries, CPR training, the performance of background checks
- Develop communication plans to keep all leaders and teams informed, using multiple means such as email, video, social media, phone calls, and personal outreach
- Work alongside the Associate Pastor to develop, implement, and manage the budget
- Maintaining a calendar for family ministries
- Maintaining a database of families and volunteers\
Other:

- Provide children, youth, and families with pastoral care as appropriate
- Develop relationships with families inside and outside the church
- Participate in all church staff meetings and partner in church projects as needed
- Network with community organizations to develop partnership opportunities
- Build and maintain a strong online presence for children, students, and families
- Be willing to consistently work Sunday mornings as well as other nights/weekends as required
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
-
- 3+ years working in Family ministry preferred
Education:
-
- A high school diploma with a valid driver’s license required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
Skills:
-
- A team player that is willing to strategize and vision with the Family Ministries Team
- Flexibility
- Be an effective teacher in person and on camera
- Skilled at event planning
Spiritual:

- A genuinely devoted disciple of Jesus Christ with a servant's heart
- A commitment to the mission of Noblesville First and The United Methodist Church
- Has a basic understanding of United Methodist and Wesleyan theology

Compensation Range: $40,000-45,000 (commensurate with experience)

CHILDCARE WORKER
Do you love kids or know someone who loves kids?! We are hiring more Nursery workers to provide childcare for children birth-5 years on Sunday mornings with additional opportunities to work during the week.
Job Type: Part-Time
Salary: $18 per hour
Purpose: To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children while at our church for children ages 0-5 years old
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 5 with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities.
- At least 18 years of age
- Satisfactory completion of a background check.
- Satisfactory completion of CPR training for infants and children.
- Must adhere to United Methodist Church Child Protection Policy Guidelines.
