Faith @ First - March 6, 2026

When my son Joshua was little, he had a deep passion for basketball—especially for one player in particular: Steph Curry. He wore Curry’s jerseys and t-shirts so often that the one pictured fell apart. The letters cracked, the fabric thinned, but Joshua kept wearing it anyway.

That’s the impact that passion has on us. It shapes us and at times, even what we wear. But passion doesn’t just make us fans of something—it can also make us people of faith. When we’re passionate about Jesus, it begins to affect the way we live. We want to spend time with Him. We want to know His Word. We talk about Him. We share what He’s doing in our lives. Through Passion, faith stops being something we occasionally observe and becomes something we actively live.

The apostle Paul captured this kind of passion in Romans 12:11: “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” That word zeal speaks of passion—an enthusiasm that doesn’t fade when life gets busy or difficult. It’s the kind of passion that keeps us pursuing God, loving others, and living out our faith every day.

This Sunday, I’ll be preaching about passion—and what it looks like to live with a heart fully engaged in following Jesus. I hope you’ll join us and together we’ll keep loving, serving and worshipping on God’s team with passion.

Keep the Faith@First,
Pastor Nicole
