June 3, 2021
Another busy week continues here at Noblesville First! We hope you will plan to make church part of your summer plans. It has been wonderful to see so many of you coming back to worship and other activities. We have even started to see brand new faces and welcome new families. I feel so privileged to be a part of it all. And a special shout out to all the staff who work so hard and use their gifts to help shape the ministries that we are a part of together. Here is a look at what is happening around here in the next days and weeks.
Thursday Worship continues at Teter Retreat & Farm tonight at 6:30 pm with Pastor Matt. All are welcome.
We will celebrate Senior Sunday this week at the 9:30 am worship service in the sanctuary. We will hear from several of our graduating seniors and will acknowledge all who are receiving diplomas. Each service will include messages and music from our seniors, so don’t worry, if you do not attend the 9:30 service, you will still be a part of the day.
We kindly ask that you consider attending either the 8:15 service at Teter or the 11:00 service in the Sanctuary this Sunday if you are not related to one of our graduates so that we can make space for the families coming to the 9:30 worship this week. Congrats to the class of 2021!
We are looking forward to the upcoming sermon series, “What's the Least I Can Believe and Still be a Christian” that the pastors will be sharing through the rest of June and July. The first week of the series will be June 13. Books of the same name are available in the office and at worship on Sunday. They are $15 each. We encourage all small groups or Bible Study groups to consider reading and discussing together. It comes with a study guide.
Orchard Planting at Teter ... We will be planting over 300 fruit trees to create our orchard. We will need a lot of hands-on-deck. Tools will be provided, and no one will need to dig holes! Yeah, the holes will be dug ahead of time! Bring gloves, sun protection & water. We are happy for any amount of time you can help. Come be a part of this significant milestone in Teter's Food Security Mission. A great activity for every age. You are welcome to participate for as long as you have available. We are planting on these days at these times:
- Monday June 7th: 9 AM to Noon and 6 PM to 8 PM
- Tuesday June 8th: 9 AM to Noon and 6 PM to 8 PM
Family Ministry Summer Plans ... Summer is almost here and the Family Ministry can't wait to see you at some exciting new events and at the return of some old favorites! Make sure to visit the church website for all of the dates and details. Up first is the Family Ministry Picnic on Sunday, June 13 at Teter at 10:30AM. Bring a picnic lunch, some blankets or chairs, sunscreen … and be ready for some BIG family fun!
Our Family Worship will continue throughout the summer at 9:45 in Celebration Hall. We will kick off the month with the most famous verse: John 3:16. God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life (NIrV). John is quick to remind us that our life is best when built on God’s love for us through Jesus. Our confidence comes from Him. Bottom Line: You can be confident because God loves you. God loves us so much. God sent Jesus to bring us life to the fullest. We can find confidence when we choose to build our life on Him. We pray that kids will understand how much God loves them. Knowing that can help us find confidence in any situation.
Blood Drive ... Monday, June 14th from 2:00-6:45PM. Go to NoblesvilleFirst.com/BloodDrive to find the online registration link.
Prayer Service ... On June 18 at 7:30 pm, everyone is invited to join a one hour Friday evening prayer service at the church (in Chapel or Sanctuary). This will include a tranquil, peaceful atmosphere for engaging in a deeper guided prayer with our Lord.
And finally, as I mentioned last week, I am looking forward to continuing to meet more and more of you as we are coming back together for worship and other church activities. I would love to meet you for a cup of coffee or a time of conversation in the office, or whatever you feel comfortable doing. Just call the office or send me an email at jmoffett@noblesvillefirst.com to set something up with me. I look forward to hearing from you.
Go in peace!
In Christ,
Pastor Jill
