Dear Noblesville First Family,
There is a saying, “I need a vacation from the vacation.” I had a marvelous time with my family in Michigan but when I opened my inbox, there was a pile of emails waiting for response, meetings to be attended, services to be planned and it’s only December 2nd! Do you ever feel like that? That it’s hard to find the joy of the season when you’re simply trying to find a way to do all of the other things?
If that’s you today you might do what I had to: STOP. Instead of forging head first into a massive to-do list, just STOP and listen:
- Listen to sounds of children playing. Their squeals of joyful laughter are like music to the ears.
- Listen to the rustling of wind through the air. The cold breeze are harbingers of a new season of creation.
- Listen to the thump of your own beating heart. Each beat is a reminder of God-given life and possibility.
I am sure you have much to do as the Christmas season begins but I pray that in the midst, you STOP and listen the songs of joy being sung by children, creation and even within. For when we stop and listen, we tune into what really matters this season: our relationship with God and one another.
And if you’re having trouble hearing that song, take a listen to our musical message this week:
May Your Christmas Playlist keep resounding songs of faith and love all season long.
Keep the Faith@First,
Pastor Nicole
