Dear Noblesville First Family,
This week we kick off our Back to the Future sermon series and in some ways we began it on Easter Sunday. As I looked out at our 9:45 service with nearly every seat on the floor and the balcony filled, I saw the church of our past and hope for the church of our future. I saw parents, grandparents, teenagers, tweens (don’t you just love them?) and children all worshipping together. I am so grateful to our staff, choir, ushers, custodians, volunteers and attendees who made this Easter a celebration of the resurrection of our savior and our church. It was a marvelous sight to behold and I believe we will see it again as we continue to show up to serve, worship and grow together in faith. Yet, for that glimpse to become a regularity, we will all need to show up. We will all need to be present and invite others to worship, classes and serving opportunities to grow in faith outside of holy week and Easter. There are several ways that you can show up and extend that invitation over the next couple of weeks:
1. Sign up and invite other couples to join you in our May marriage class, “I Did, You Did, Now What?” Thursday nights from 6:30-8PM. This class, taught by Pastor Jevon and I, is for all couples at every stage of the journey and includes childcare. To register, click the link at NoblesvilleFirst.com/marriage.
2. Sign up to volunteer at our annual Vacation Bible School, June 19-22, or register your kids, grandkids, friends and neighbors today. This superhero-themed VBS will capture the imagination of children and grow their discipleship. To register a child or to volunteer, click the link at ... NoblesvilleFirst.com/VBS.
3. And speaking of showing up, I hope you will join us in worship this Sunday as incoming Associate Pastor Rev. Brittney Stephan preaches the first installment of the Back to the Future sermon series at 8:30 and 9:45 in the Sanctuary (Door 1). I know you will extend a warm welcome to her as she prepares to join us in ministry full-time beginning in July.
I’m excited for the glimpse of the future and the past that God allowed us to see and as Doc Brown would say, “Great Scott!” God has so much more in store for Noblesville First.
Keep the Faith@First,
Pastor Nicole
