Dear Noblesville First Family,
I hope you enjoyed the sun that shone down on us yesterday. Especially because today we have rain that’s forecasted to last all day long. As I look out at the clouds that were sky blue yesterday but an ominous gray today, I am reminded of the the truth of the Christian journey. As followers of Jesus we will experience sunshine and rain, blue skies and storms, high winds and gentle breezes.
This duality can sometimes throw us off the course of our faith journey. We don’t know when the rain will stop or the storms will cease and it’s hard to maintain our faith in the meantime.
Yet, Jesus shows us how. This weekend we’ll explore his victory over the storm of betrayal and how these lessons can help us move forward in our faith no matter the “weather.” I believe this message is especially important this week as our nation mourns another school shooting, continues praying for the people of Ukraine, and each of us holds the needs of our own families and friends. In Jesus, we find a faith that helps us to keep moving towards our mission and in our church, we find a community that joins us for the journey.
Come rain or shine, I look forward to worshiping with you this Palm Sunday morning when our children will join us at the 9:45 service and sing two songs they’ve been practicing for weeks. As we look forward to Easter, I cannot wait to meet the people you’ll invite to journey with us in as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection.
Until then, keep the faith@first,
Pastor Nicole
