Dear Noblesville First Family,
This Sunday we kick off our June worship series: WE ARE THE CHURCH. Each week I’ll be introducing to some or re-introducing to others the “WE” that make up this incredible community of faith.
This week meet Ruthie Shoe and Anita Walker.
Ruthie’s middle name (okay maybe not on her birth certificate) is resilient. She’s overcome many obstacles in her physical health and it’s created within her a testimony to the healing power of Jesus that she shares boldly and joyfully with others. Over the last five years, Ruthie has invited over 75 people to worship, including coworkers, neighbors, family and strangers (though not for long). She’s given 55 Bibles and devotionals to community members and prepares bags of gently used clothing and shoes for those whom she may meet who are in need.
You’ll find Ruthie in the front row of the choir, serving with the care and prayer ministry, attending Bible study or completing a painting for some blessed recipient who will see in it the love and testimony that Ruthie colors every conversation with.
Anita Walker is a newer part of our church. She is the executive assistant to the Lead Pastor and provides support to our administration and office management. Anita is a problem solver, an experienced administrator and leader, but much more than that, she is a devoted follower of Jesus. She’s at Noblesville First because she believes that God orchestrated the opportunity to join our staff. In one recent staff meeting, she shared that one of her happiest days was receiving the call she was being offered this staff role. She and her husband Eric literally danced in the kitchen, and she’s been dancing into the hearts of our laity and staff ever since!
As Anita looks toward the future, she wants to be a part of the growth God is bringing to Noblesville First and, with a servants heart, wants to be a part of making that vision a reality. Anita has even joined the choir and you can find her once or twice a month joining the great chorus of praise, not just with her voice but with her discipleship each and every day.
Anita and Ruthie are parts of Noblesville First and we thank God for every person, ministry and disciple that makes us who we are. I pray you’ll join us this Sunday, outdoors at 8:15 at Teter Retreat & Farm or in the sanctuary at 9:45, as we learn together just what it means to be the body of Christ as I preach on the theme “I need you, you need me." Until then ...
Keep the Faith@First,
Pastor Nicole
