Monday Morning Bible Study meets 9:30-11:15AM in the church parlor (Door 1). The group is studying God's Story by Anne Graham Lotz (ISBN 979-8499-2092-9).
"God's Story begins in Genesis with creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, and Noah and the ark. Join Anne Graham Lotz as she thoughtfully illuminates each moment of Creation with inspiring insights and probing reflections, leading you to know God, the Creator of us all."
If you are a beginner in scripture or have studied before, everyone is welcome to join these conversations each week. Each person is responsible to order their own book.
The First and Third Monday Study meets at 7-8:30PM in the church parlor (Door 1). Come and explore the pages of Journeys with the Messiah by Michael Belk. As a famous fashion photographer, Michael Belk struggled with wondering about what the meaning of his life was for God. God pointed him into using his unique story---telling skills, to embark on an inspiring journey---with his camera and creativity-to explore the modern-day relevance of the centuries-old messages of Jesus. The result is a magnificently beautiful and thought, provoking collection of compelling and sometimes controversial photos depicting Christ’s message to all of us.
Each week we'll explore a different photo from the book and you are invited to join us as your schedule allows. Photos and study sheets will be made available to class participants each week. Books are available online, but only through used book sources. If you wish to order a copy of Journey with the Messiah, which is a very special book to have in your library, order ISBN: 9780615496658 (dark brown cover). Note: there is also a coffee table book available at a higher cost.
The video below chronicles of Michael Belk’s story. It contains great background information and details on how he was inspired by God to produce this book.
Circle of Friends is a women’s study group that meets on Wednesdays (September through May), 10-11:30AM in the Bi-Rooms (Door 1). Preparation for each week's study is about an hour.
The group is currently studying Words of Life: Jesus and the Promise of the Ten Commandments Today, by Adam Hamilton.
The Elderberries Study group meets at 10AM every Thursday in the church parlor (Door 1) for study, fellowship and laughter. Come join us!
The group, comprised of both men and women, is currently studying Let Us Go Now to Bethlehem: Daily Devotions for Advent and Christmas by Todd Outcalt (available in the church office for $11.) The study will continue through January 6.
We start each session with some humor, celebrate birthdays the first Thursday of the month, discuss the chapter(s) of the week, share prayer needs and praises and end by singing a hymn. Then everyone is invited to go out for lunch. Our focus is on fellowship and caring for others. We also help with church mission projects.
You’ve heard the story before, many, many times ... the Christmas Story!
You won’t, however, want to miss this four-week in-depth study of the Birth of the Christ Child that will bring new insights and appreciation for this often told story.
All are invited to join us Tuesday evenings on November 9, 16, 30 and December 7 in the church parlor from 6:30-8:15PM for this new look into the stable through The Journey by Adam Hamilton.
Books are available in the office for $14.
