From Pastor Jerry Rairdon ...
People have been asking about how best to donate to hurricane relief and there are three easy ways to do so.
2) You can also make a donation to UMCOR by making a check out to Noblesville First UMC with UMCOR or Hurricane Harvey in the memo. The church will then route those donations collectively.
In addition, we have made contact with St. John’s UMC in downtown Houston and they have invited us to partner with them in direct relief efforts. Rudy and Juanita Rasmus are the co-pastors of this 9,000-member congregation. Rudy started the church in 1992 with nine members and because of his unique background they have grown the church, with 30% of the congregation formerly homeless. I met Rudy a few years ago when they spoke at the Our Life Together clergy renewal event and again when visiting Nancy’s son who lives in Houston when we attended Sunday worship to experience this vibrant congregation. The program our staff is most excited about is the opportunity to adopt a family and journey with them through the recovery process.
3) If you would like to support this effort then make your check out to Noblesville First UMC and put St. John’s UMC in the memo.
4) You can also give directly to St. John's UMC's Hurricane Relief Fund by going to www.breadoflifeinc.org/donor.
Look forward to more updates as we join in this massive relief effort.
